High heel wearer 2007 en 2008 Nienke van Maris:


Please let me introduce myself. My name is Nienke van Maris.

In 2005 I started as an interior designer for a Dutch tv-programm, Woon & Klus Magazine, which was aired on sundaynights at RTL5. For this programm I (with my team) determined what all the interior were going to look like and everything that was made and built, from start to finish. After my first year I expanded my work to the tv-programm TuinMagazine, where I was co-responsible
for the designing of the gardens and the finishing touches in terms of styling.
Within one week after starting my job as an interior designer I was put in front of the camera and I became part of the tv-show Woon & Klus Magazine. I told our creative director that if I ever were to become famous, it would be because of my shoes. I own over 150 pairs of shoes, of which 90% consists of heels. High heels... More than once I was captured on camera, because it's always nice to capture a tiny girl in skyhigh stiletto's that walks around construction sites.

Shortly after my name was mentioned in a forum about high heels as a Dutch celebrity in high heels. In Holland you have the election for Lingerie Wearer of the year. In line with that thought at the forum they decided to have an election for High Heel Wearer of the year. I was nominated for the title. As soon as I caught on to that, I subsribed to the forum and asked what the nomination embodied and what was to gain.
That was much appreciated and in return I was crowned High Heel Wearer for 2007 and also for the following year 2008.

In my work for television I met lots of people, among who Eline and her husband in October 2007. They had signed up for a make-over of their bedroom for the tv-programm Woon & Klus Magazine. Sometimes these contacts with people lead to friendships and this was one of them.
Eline is way more sporty than I am, she teaches classes in a gym. I on the other hand am quite lazy when it comes to working out. In a magazine I read about a Stiletto-workout that was taught in New York. I sent the article to Eline and she played it by the gym. They caught on to the idea and Eline and I went to work to make a good, responsible and fun workout.

The responses we got while preparing the first High Heel Workout in the Netherlands were so stimulating that we decided to make this bigger than we first intended to. What started out as sort of a joke, lead to a business in which we can teach all (of the Netherlands and further) ladies in Holland and beyond to walk in high heels in an elegant and sexy manner and also in a correct and healthy way. And above all: in a fun way!

So let's get going!!! The world is your runway...!!!

P.S. Besides High Heel Workout I also own my own interior designing ageny Next Interior | Next Exterior. I can be hired for advice indoors as well as outdoors, but I also give workshops interor design. You’ll be coming to my home and in a nice environment in a kitchen of a historic monument, in the middle of the cosy neighboorhood de Jordaan I will teach you the basics needed to get your-self busy with your own home.
